His Football Chaplain Lead Him to Jesus. Now, He's Running.
As a seventh grader, Chad Lowe attended an FCA camp, but it wasn’t until high school when God opened his eyes to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Chad, pictured above, accepted an invitation to his school’s Bible club from his best friend, who knew all of his struggles with depression, addiction, and loneliness. He was then pursued by the football chaplain at the meeting who eventually shared Jesus. They were in Ephesians 2 when asked if anyone wanted to know Christ. “I felt the Holy Spirit stirring in my heart for the first time” he said, “I knew I wanted to make that commitment, so I did. My life took a complete 180 and for the first time, I felt like I truly belonged, like a part of a family in the body of Christ.” The FCA Bible from camp collecting dust was then put to good use, and he said he still reads from it to this day. From that point forward Chad saw with eternal eyes and plugged into Intervarsity Campus ministry the next Fall while at the University of Delaware and grew in his faith, eventually becoming a leader on campus. The desire to share Christ in his vocation grew even stronger and Chad became a college intern with FCA in Delaware.
First FCA wrestling clinic in Delaware held at Wilmington Christian School in Wilmington. Former State Champion, Issah Meade, shared his story of freedom that came from Jesus Christ. Chad was the organizer to make it happen!
“I felt the Holy Spirit stirring in my heart for the first time...My life took a complete 180 and for the first time, I felt like I truly belonged, like a part of a family in the body of Christ."
“My internship helped me discover my love for coaching and working with athletes.” He explained. Chad was then put in position to help serve the FCA huddle at Conrad School of Science as well as coach football and wrestling while student teaching in his senior year. Shortly after, Chad planned Delaware’s first FCA wrestling clinic with FCA Staff, pictured above, in May 2017. Now a teacher, wrestling coach, and the FCA huddle coach at Appoquinimink HS, he is sharing Christ with his school and is daily pursuing the Lord.
